Daisy True Ryan: Jack Quaid’s Younger Sister
Daisy True Ryan is Jack Quaid’s younger sister through their mother, Meg Ryan.
Born in China in 2004, Daisy joined the family when Ryan adopted her in early 2006. Jack was 13 years old at the time.
Unlike Jack, who developed an acting career, Daisy has largely remained outside the entertainment industry’s public spotlight.
Meg Ryan has spoken openly about raising both children. In a 2008 interview with the Los Angeles Times, the actress discussed adopting Daisy and becoming her mother.
Ryan also spoke about Jack and Daisy in a 2023 interview with PEOPLE, describing the experience of motherhood and expressing pride in both children.
Jack himself has occasionally referred to having a younger sister.
During a May 2019 interview with The Knockturnal, he recalled an amusing experience involving his younger sister’s friends and his appearance in The Hunger Games.
He referred to her as his “little sister” while describing their reaction to seeing him in the film.
Although he did not identify her by name in that particular interview, the anecdote offers a rare public glimpse of Jack discussing a younger sibling.
Daisy and Jack are siblings through Meg Ryan’s adoption. They are not known to share a biological parent.
Thomas Boone Quaid: Jack Quaid’s Younger Half-Brother
Thomas Boone Quaid is Jack’s younger half-brother through their father, Dennis Quaid.
Thomas was born on November 8, 2007, to Dennis and his then-wife, Kimberly Buffington.
His arrival came more than 15 years after Jack’s birth in April 1992.
Thomas also has a twin sister, Zoe Grace Quaid, who was born on the same day.
Their births were publicly announced in November 2007, with the family’s representative confirming the twins’ names and arrival.
The announcement was covered in contemporaneous reporting by The Vindicator.
Because Thomas and Jack share Dennis Quaid as their biological father, they are half-brothers rather than stepbrothers.
Thomas Quaid’s Latest Publicly Reported Milestone
In August 2026, Dennis Quaid revealed that Thomas and Zoe had started college.
Speaking to PEOPLE, Dennis discussed the experience of taking his twins to college and adjusting to their departure from home.
The actor also reflected on an earlier period when Jack left for New York University.
The comparison connected two milestones in Dennis Quaid’s family life, separated by several years.
Zoe Grace Quaid: Jack Quaid’s Younger Half-Sister
Zoe Grace Quaid is Jack’s younger paternal half-sister and Thomas Boone Quaid’s twin sister.
Like Thomas, she was born on November 8, 2007, to Dennis Quaid and Kimberly Buffington.
Zoe is also younger than Daisy True Ryan, making her one of the two youngest children in Jack’s publicly documented family.
Although Zoe and Jack have different mothers, they share the same biological father.
Zoe has appeared occasionally alongside Dennis at public events, including the Los Angeles premiere of Reagan in August 2024.
In 2026, she reached another milestone when she began college alongside her twin brother.
Dennis discussed the twins’ move in an August 2026 interview with PEOPLE.
The interview provided a recent update about Thomas and Zoe while also highlighting how their lives differ from Jack’s established acting career.
Is Jack Quaid an Only Child?
Jack Quaid is the only biological child Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid had together, but he is not an only child when their other children are included.
The distinction comes from the two actors’ family histories.
Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid married in February 1991 and welcomed Jack the following year. They separated in 2000, and their divorce was finalized in 2001.
Ryan subsequently adopted Daisy in 2006.
Dennis later welcomed Thomas and Zoe with Kimberly Buffington in 2007.
These separate family connections explain why some accounts identify Jack as the only child of Ryan and Quaid’s marriage, while others correctly identify his three younger siblings.
Thomas and Zoe are sometimes incorrectly described as Jack’s stepsiblings. Because they share Dennis Quaid as their biological father, half-siblings is the accurate term.
Daisy’s relationship to Jack comes through Meg Ryan’s adoption, making her his younger sister.
Together, these relationships explain the complete publicly documented sibling structure of the The Boys actor’s family.
